A drawing from an album. The original album is known as ''Book of Blauw Jan''; also called ''Wonders of Nature'' and ''Album by Jan Velten''. The drawing shows an American Beaver, that in all possibility came, stuffed or not, from New Netherland. The animal was on show in the menagerie of the Amsterdam inn ''Blauw Jan/Blue Jan''. The drawing is part of a reprint titled: ''Wonders of Nature : In the menagerie of Blauw Jan in Amsterdam, as seen by Jan Velten around 1700.'' Authors: Florence F.J.M.
