Etching of the Mohawk Sychnecta, dressed in his traditional war-dress. He wears among other things a characteristic head-dress and nose- and ear-jewellery of the Mohawks. He carries a bow and an arrow in his left hand and a pipe-tomahawk in his right hand. Next to his feet a pair of snowshoes is depicted. This Native American supposedly has been ‘on show’ in the Blauw Jan inn. This print is part of the Dreesmann-collection of the Municipal Archives of Amsterdam, dr.pr.1463
