1975-2001: Dutch History Photo Commissions > Rijksmuseum Photo Collection

The Rijksmuseum's National Photography Collection includes a large collection of international photography from the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century, as well as a substantial collection of modern Dutch photography, mainly consisting of the photographs obtained since 1975 by way of the photo commissions.

At the moment (2003), the collection of commissioned photographs totals more than 2700 photo's by 45 photographers and covers about thirty varied themes. Together they offer a broad panorama of the highs and lows in Dutch society from 1970 onwards.
