The Liber Amicorum which the Alkmaar born writer A.L.G. Bosboom-Toussaint received in 1882 on the occasion of her 70th birthday, has been preserved and digitized within the scope of Metamorfoze, the national programme for the preservation of the paper heritage of the Netherlands.
On Tuesday 8 March 2005 this digitized collection was presented in the Alkmaar Kapelkerk. Professor Dr. M.T.C. Mathijsen-Verkooijen of the University of Amsterdam spoke about the writer Bosboom-Toussaint and Mr C.A.J. Thomassen of the Koninklijke Bibliotheek talked about the Libri Amicorum, the books from friends.
Next, the Mayor of Alkmaar, Mrs M. van Rossen, inaugurated the collection officially.
A small exhibition about Mrs Bosboom-Toussaint can be seen in the foyer of the Alkmaar Municipal Museum during March and April.
