The Rijksdienst voor de Monumentenzorg (The Netherlands Department for Conservation, RDMZ) is the knowledge centre par excellence concerning our architectural heritage. The RDMZ, located in Zeist, is housed in the monumental buildings of the Moravian Brotherhood on Broederplein (Square of Brothers).
At the RDMZ a unique collection of photographs, architectural drawings, topographical prints and other visual material can be consulted. There is a specialized archive with documents concerning monuments and buildings within protected parts of towns or villages. The library contains information about cities, towns and villages in the Netherlands, about (international) preservation of monuments and historic buildings, about the history of architecture, building techniques, garden architecture, etcetera.
