Bedankje van een Dageraadsman voor de prise uit de doos van Schopenhauer
Multatuli’s book Minnebrieven was brought out in 1861 by the publisher F. Günst. No doubt, the list of this publishing house appealed to Multatuli because of the number of kindred spirits it included. When reading the pamphlet by Van der Linde, Multatuli left his mark on it: notes and small scratches made with his fingernail in the margins (a way Multatuli had to indicate important passages). Incidentally, Multatuli and the author were to remain friends for many years and together they played chess by correspondence.
