Vertoogh van Nieu Nederland' ('A Tale of New Netherland'), and 'Breeden raedt' ('Broad Advice') aende Vereenichde Nederlandsche Provintien : two rare tracts, printed in 1649-'50, relating to the administration of affairs in New Netherland.
Translation and elucidation in English of two important documents of the early history of New Amsterdam. Breeden Raedt (Broad Advice) was written by I.A. and G.W.C. and is attributed to Cornelis Melyn. Vertoogh van Nieu Nederland (A Tale of New Netherland) is attributed to Adriaen van der Donck. The originals were published in 1649-’50.
